NOTE:

  • Please wear steel-toe shoes to class and bring a notebook. Pencils are provided.
  • Lunch can be brought in a small cooler (no refrigeration available) or students may leave Campus to buy their lunch.

A pre-hire, entry-level training program for shipyard employment. This entry-level course provides hands-on training in marine pipefitting with a strong emphasis on safety, tool use, and fundamental pipe installation techniques. Students develop skills in pipe cutting, rigging, joint assembly, and blueprint interpretation while working in a simulated shipyard environment. Aligned with industry standards, the program prepares students for immediate employment supporting piping systems aboard naval and commercial vessels.

Student must also attend OSHA 10 training class conducted by the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA) as part of completion of this course. Dates to be determined by VSRA. A certification will be presented to the student at the successful completion of the OSHA 10 training.
